  • Match the Rider with available Drivers;
  • Display available Drivers or trip-related information in the App;
  • Facilitate and monitor a Trip;
  • Provide navigation and transportation-related functionality;
  • Communicate relevant Trip information between the Rider and Driver;
  • Help determine the route and distance associated with a Trip;
  • Improve the safety and security of Riders and Drivers;
  • Investigate complaints, incidents, fraud, or misuse of the Platform;
  • Improve the performance and functionality of the Platform; and
  • Comply with applicable legal, regulatory, insurance, and safety requirements.

Rydstop may share location information that is necessary to facilitate a requested Trip with the Driver assigned to or participating in that Trip. This may include the Rider's pickup location and other location information reasonably necessary to complete the Trip.

3.2 Driver Location Information

When a Driver uses the Rydstop Drivers App and permits location access, Rydstop may access the Driver's device location, which may include precise GPS location information.

Driver location information may be used to:

  • Identify the Driver's location and availability;
  • Match Drivers with nearby Rider requests;
  • Provide real-time Trip functionality;
  • Facilitate navigation and routing;
  • Allow Riders to receive relevant Trip and Driver location information;
  • Monitor and record Trip routes and locations;
  • Improve safety and security;
  • Investigate complaints, accidents, incidents, fraud, or misuse;
  • Verify Trip completion and related fare information;
  • Improve Platform functionality; and
  • Comply with applicable legal, regulatory, insurance, and safety requirements.

During an active Trip or when a Driver is using location-dependent features of the Rydstop Drivers App, location information may be transmitted to Rydstop's systems and may be shared with the Rider to the extent reasonably necessary to facilitate the Trip.

3.3 How Location Information Is Collected

Location information may be obtained from the device's location services, including GPS, Wi-Fi, cellular network information, or other location technologies supported by the device.

The availability and accuracy of location information may depend on the User's device, operating system, location settings, network connection, and permissions granted to the Rydstop App.

Users may control or disable location permissions through their device settings. However, disabling location access may prevent or limit certain Rydstop features, including requesting, matching, accepting, navigating, or completing Trips.

3.4 Location Information When the App Is Not in Active Use

Depending on the permissions granted by the User and the technical configuration of the App, Rydstop may access location information when the App is running in the background or when the App is not actively displayed on the device, where such access is necessary for an applicable Rydstop feature or service.

For example, where permitted and applicable, background location access may support Driver availability, Trip matching, active Trip tracking, navigation, safety, or other transportation-related functionality.

Rydstop does not use location information for purposes unrelated to the operation of its ride-hailing services except where such use is disclosed and permitted under applicable law.

Rydstop may disclose or share location information with:

  • Riders and Drivers, where necessary to facilitate a requested or active Trip;
